NORWEGIAN Cruise Line has expanded its choice of cruises in its latest Worldwide Cruising programme featuring the 2,000-passenger ship Norwegian Sun.

Currently under construction, the ship will make its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York on September 10 next year.

New cruises in the programme are in the Far East, where the ship is offering 14 and 22 nights with ports of call in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong and China from £1,766 per person, and Australia and New Zealand, where Norwegian Wind has a 20-night cruise calling at Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania, Christchurch and Auckland. Prices are from £2,944 per person.

Norwegian Sea has an 11-night itinerary from New York taking in Halifax, Bar Harbor, Boston Martha’s Vineyard and Rhode Island from £1,721.

There are also new Discovery Voyages to other destinations including Norwegian Wind’s 34-night itinerary visiting Tasmania, Cook Islands, Bora Bora, French Polynesia, Tahiti and Hawaii from £5,151 per person.

UK director Bill Ellerington said: “This brochure has the widest choice of destinations in the company’s history,”

Early-booking discounts of up to 35% are offered on most cruises booked four months or more in advance.

From next summer, NCL is also expanding its Freestyle Cruising concept to its ships. It was introduced this year to NCL’s newest ship Norwegian Sky. Instead of being assigned a dining time and table for the whole cruise, Freestyle Cruising gives passengers the choice of where to eat, when and with whom.

“It also means passengers can dress resort casual rather than formal.

He added: “Freestyle Cruising has already been well received by our guests,” said Ellerington. “It differentiates us from our competitors and offers higher levels of service to our guests.”
