MARRIOTT subsidiary Renaissance Hotels, Resorts and Suites is running a series of trade initiatives to coincide with the launch of its first five-star property in central London – the Renaissance London Chancery Court Hotel.

Renaissance area director of sales and marketing Brenda McDowell said: “We are planning initiatives displaying the property through direct sales, global distribution system promotions, agency promotions and fam trips via Marriott’s Innovative Hotel Excellence programmes for travel agencies.

“We have been quietly showing off the property over the past few months to corporate travel buyers but are really stepping it up now in the critical weeks before it opens at the end of the year.”

The High Holborn property is located at the former headquarters of Pearl Assurance.

A two-year conversion is due to end in December with the opening pencilled in for early next year.

Once complete it will boast 359 rooms, 14 suites, 12 meeting rooms and a ballroom. A restaurant called QC will also open in one of the two restored banking halls at the site.

Guest rooms will all have connections for modems/faxes fitted as standard plus high-speed Internet access. Introductory rates will start at £180 for a standard room.

Planning ahead: corporate travel buyers have been given a preview tour of the Renaissance Chancery Court Hotel. The central London property is due to open officially in spring next year.
