Holidaybreak completes on Rainbow sale
HOLIDAYBREAK has completed the acquisition of short-break operator Rainbow Holidays from First Choice, as exclusively revealed by Travel Weekly last week.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, has led to the departure of eight staff including sales and marketing director Roger Cross, operations director Sharon Hutchinson and sales director Chris Edwards.
All remaining staff at York-based Rainbow have relocated to the offices of Holidaybreak-owned Superbreak, also in York.
Holidaybreak chief executive Richard Atkinson said: “This will automatically take a competitor out of the market.”
He confirmed the Rainbow brand will be retained.
Superbreak sales director Ian Mounser said: “This will give us extra allocations in key hotels.”
