Belfast – Heysham service stopped by Sea Containers

Report by
John Lavabre

SEA
Containers Irish Sea Operations has ceased its Belfast to Heysham service.

The service, which normally ceases over the winter period,
has been stopped three weeks early so essential technical work can be carried out
on the SuperSeaCat fast ferry.

The
company will announce at a later date when the service is to resume.

Customers
who have made bookings are being contacted and are being offered alternative
crossings or refunds.

Sea
Containers Irish Sea Operations managing director, Hamish Ross, said the
decision had been made to cause minimum disruption to the service.

Customers
with any queries should contact their travel agent or call 08705 523 523.
