Training sessions

&#42 Kuoni is launching its Australia programme at training events tonight at the Marks Tey Hotel, Colchester, and tomorrow, October 17, at Park Hall Hotel, Wolverhampton. The evening starts at 6pm with aworkshop followed bypresentations to highlight the keyselling points by the two mainsponsors, Qantas and Accor Hotels, as well as Kuoni, and dinner. &#42 The Canadian Tourism Commission has a half-day skiworkshop at Canada House in London on October 25, to give agents the chance to meet skisuppliers from provinces including British Columbia and Quebec and UK tour operators offering skiing in Canada. &#42 Chameleon has scheduled twotwo-day customer service training courses based on the techniques of American Mary Gober, who isconsidered the leading authority in this field. The focus of the courses, called The Art of Giving Quality Service, includes the psychology of service, the Gober language of service, telephone standards, a successformula for complaints andimpressive service recovery. The first, on November 14-15, will bepresented by Chameleon consultants trained in the Gober Method, while the December 5-6 course will bepresented by Mary Gober. Concessions

&#42 Agents can travel on Stena Line’s Amsterdam Express service for £5 each way under a new initiative to promote the rail-and-sail product. Amsterdam Express links London to Harwich by rail, where passengers catch the HSS fast ferry to the Hook of Holland and then board a train for the Dutch capital. Contact Stena Line on 08705 020202.
