Why can’t we say what we really think?

So Airtours Holidays and UKLGdistribution managing director Richard Carrick believes the industry could save millions by not being too generous to whingers. I couldn’t agree more. Take two complaints we received.

Complaint one: my children were scalded by the hot water (children aged 31 and 29). We replied: We were sorry to hear….will rectify…

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could say:the use of mixer taps is obviously beyond you.

Complaint two: there were peanuts under the bed when we arrived and they were still there three days later.

We replied: had you contacted housekeeping.

Wouldn’t it be niceif we could say: we were glad to hear the rats have gone. Had they not been exterminated, the peanuts would have disappeared overnight.

We can but dream.
