Cruising for an agent bruising
AGENTS have been venting their anger on First Choice this week, with some justification.
A cheeky letter to cruise clients (Travel Weekly October 9) urging them to book direct, didn’t exactly go down well.
The letter invited holidaymakers to call into their local travel agent to get a brochure or phone up for one.
But the killer line was”what’s more, if you book a cruise direct on 0870 750 0001 you’ll get 15% off”.
Come on operators. If you do have to encourage people to book direct, then at least give agents a level playing field if you want them to continue supporting your product.
