Raid prompts Thomas Cook security rejig

THOMASCook will review security arrangements following a raid at a branch in East Molesey, Surrey last Monday.

Two staff members were locked in a toilet during the raid, while robbers escaped with money from a cash drawer. The retailer declined to reveal the amount stolen.

A Thomas Cook spokesman said:”Our primary concern is for our staff and customers at the branch. Fortunately no-one was injured on this occasion but events like this can be exceptionally traumatic.”

In July £23,000 in cash and travellers’ cheques was stolen fromThomas Cook in East Sheen, southwest London.
