&#42 Travel park fined for failing CAA ruling

Travel Park Ltd, trading as Atlas Air Travel, London, has been fined £2,500 for failing to comply with the Civil Aviation Authority’s Air Travel Organiser’s Licensing regulations. The company pleaded guilty to charges of accepting payment for a

discounted airline booking, without issuing an ATOLreceipt that disclosed the agency capacity and identified the ATOLholder.

&#42 travelsphere choose coe for leading role

Former Airtours managing director Harry Coe has joined coach holiday operator Travelsphere as non-executive chairman. Travelsphere managing directors Mike Edwards and Richard Mackay will remain as executive directors. Operations director Mark Watts becomes managing director, while information technology director David Clemson becomes deputy managing director. The appointment comes as stakeholder Mercury Private Finance today announced it is to invest £80 million in expanding Travelsphere.

&#42 stansted to belfast service offered by go

Go is launching flights from Stansted to Belfast International from November 1. The new route will offer three departures a day from Monday to Saturday and one on Sunday. To launch the service all seats booked before November 1 – for travel before December 20 – will cost £25 return. This includes taxes, provided passengers stay a Saturday night. After November 1, return fares will be from £48 including taxes.

&#42 royal olympic losses lower than last year

Royal Olympic Cruise Lines has reported a net loss of £6.8 million for the first six months of this year. The figures are an improvement of £1.5 million, or 18.4%, on the same period last year.
