Independent hotels to gain from new system
Report by LEEWINTER
ON-LINE company All-Hotels.com has launched a new booking system aimed at boosting business for small and medium-sized independent hotels.
Hoteliers can register for the product known as a-Res and add on-line inventory management and booking functions to their existing Web sites.
They will also be given a listing on the company’s main Web site’s directory from where bookings can be made. In addition All-Hotels.com is working on a new function linking a-Res members direct to agents via global distribution suppliers and hotel reservation systems.
All-Hotels.com chief executive officer Jane Karkowski said: “We are targeting this at the 120,000 or so independent hotels across Europe that are not already part of the big chains or franchises.
“It is a flexible product which can cope with hotels that have a complicated set-up with different excursions and add-ons, to simple hotels that only have the room to sell.”
Features include set rate codes for preferred clients and real-time inventory management that will amend room availability as bookings are made. Karkowski added: “The software can be customised for each hotel, using their logo and corporate colours with a-Res driving the technology.
“Near the end of the year we will be adding a function that will allow hoteliers to opt into being listed with global distribution systems or the hotel will be able to switch to companies with information from hotel central reservation systems.”
Karkowski said the software will be free with All-Hotels.com earning £3 commission per booking made from hotels signed to the system.
