BA to launch corporate reward scheme after successful trials
Report by LOUISELONGMAN
BRITISH Airways is rolling out its new corporate rewards programme following a successful nine-month trial.
In total 3,000 small to medium-sized companies have signed up for the scheme, called On Business, with the majority joining in conjunction with their travel agents.
On Business will entitle companies to redeem points every time employees book fares with the airline. Points can be exchanged for business travel rewards including free flights, chauffeur service to or from a selection of UK airports, Heathrow or Gatwick Express tickets and hotel vouchers. The rewards programme has also been extended to passengers living near regional airports. On Business will allow passengers flying with BA franchise carriers, such as Brymon Airways, Maersk UK, CityFlyer and British Regional Airlines, to redeem and earn points.
To encourage usage of On Business, BA has introduced a new bonus system. Once a company’s points reach three key levels, the company will be awarded bonus points equivalent to a return economy flight to Johannesburg, Los Angeles or a World Traveller Plus flight to Hong Kong.
British Airways head of sales UK and Ireland Tiffany Hall said: “The success of the trial of On Business has meant that we can start to develop a closer working relationship with small to medium-sized businesses, which represent one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK economy.”
Five Club Europe return flights to Milan will earn one company a free Euro Traveller flight to Frankfurt; five full-fare Euro Traveller return flights to Stockholm will earn a £100 cheque at Marriott hotels; and three Club Europe returns to Madrid will earn a free book of 10 Heathrow Express tickets.
