Waldorf Hotel left blinded by science

SENDING an e-mail from a technology conference should be as easy as organising a certain party in a brewery.

Not so, however, for anyone at the Digital Distribution in Travel conference at The Meridien Waldorf Hotel in London.

Assuming there would at least be a PC with an e-mail facility at the conference, Travel Weekly Web site reporter John Lavabre had arranged to send a story back to HQ.

However, when Lavabre asked the hosts where he could send an e-mail from, their response was not too hot.

“Err, I think there is a business suite you can use. But you will have to ask at the hotel’s reception,” he was told.

Luckily, the Waldorf’s staff did finally find a suitable computer, although it was in a draughty little office.
