SPARC members defect to Travelsavers group
MORE than 30 members of the Scottish Passenger Agents Retail Consortium have joined Travelsavers, which is officially launched this week.
The remainder of the 43-strong group will join Advantage Travel Centres in a move that will spell the end of SPARC.
Former SPARC chief executive and new Travelsavers managing director Ken McLeod said he will now seek to build membership of the new marketing group.
“We have not approached any agents ourselves but over 100 have made enquiries to usand some of them belong to existing consortia,” he said.
