Singapore Airlines confirms 79 dead on flight SQ006

SINGAPORE
Airlines has confirmed 79 people were killed when flight SQ 006 crashed
yesterday on take off at Taipei airport, Taiwan.

A further
99 passengers and crew have received hospital treatment. One passenger is still
unaccounted for.

The
airline has sent a number of support staff to the scene, including 93 “buddies”
who are trained to support family members through such incidents.

Family
members are also on their way to Taipei.

Singapore Airlines said weather conditions were within
safe operational limits when the accident happened.
