FORMERHoliday Autos direct team leader Karl Hendrie has launched his own car-rental broker company, called Global Leisurecars.
The new venture, based in Farnham, Surrey, offers car hire in 6,000 locations in over 100 countries.
A week’s car hire in Malaga is available for a lead-in price of £112 which is valid during high season.
Local taxes, airport surcharges, handling fees, theft protection, unlimited mileage, no insurance excess, accident insurance and free extra driver are all included in Global’s price.
Two other former Holiday Autos employees are also involved in the venture which has been financed through a personal loan to Hendrie.
Hendrie said he is not going head to head with his former employer but instead wants to offer the customer a choice.
“We’re not looking to go against Holiday Autos. We do realise they have a good product and are already well established.”
Founder and president of Holiday Autos Clive Jacobs said he supports the new venture.
“We wish them the best of luck, I really hope they succeed.”
