Marketing team tomake debut at WTM

NEW Zealand’s latest international marketing consortium – a group promoting the central area of the North Island – makes its debut at World Travel Market.

Central North Island Marketing will join eight other exhibitors at the Tourism New Zealand stand, which is boosting its presence with a 20% increase in size.

Central North Island Marketing officially launched itself at Trenz in Christchurch in May and includes the areas of Waikato, the Coromandel, Rotorua, the Bay of Plenty, Lake Taupo, Hawke’s Bay, Ruapehu and Eastland.

A second new partner exhibiting with Tourism New Zealand is the Pacific Coast Highway, which is spearheading the development of regional inclusive tour packages, based around established tourist routes.

Hotel group Mitchell Corp is another first-time partner and will join THL, showcasing its brands Maui, Britz, Mt Cook Line and Newmans Independent Holidays and in-bound operators ATS Pacific, Southern World Vacations, Wiedemann Travel, Travel Time South Pacific and Travel Management South Pacific.

Tourism New Zealand’s UKmarket development manager Peter Tippen said: “We are delighted to welcome new partners working with us at WTMthis year. Travel industry interest from both agents and operators continues to grow and WTMwill provide an ideal showcase for new and established products which are ideal for the market.”

Newmans Independent Holidays will unveil a touring pass designed to encourage British holidaymakers to pre-book day trips before they leave the UK.

The Great Sights Saver Pass is made up of eight coupons that travellers receive before departure, together with a brochure detailing day trips and scenic flight products throughout New Zealand and their individual prices in terms of coupon redemptions. Once in New Zealand, the traveller’s day trip or scenic flight can be booked a day in advance by calling an 0800 number.
