FANS of West End musicals will get the opportunity to sit in on rehearsals and watch backstage developments during voyages on the QE2 this year.
Owner Cunard Line has struck a deal with production companies to prepare their new shows for launch while on board the ship.
“Our guests will witness the birth of a blockbuster,” claimed an optimistic entertainment director, Greg Von Seeger.
Maybe even a new South Pacific, HMS Pinafore or the all-time classic, and Backchat’s favourite, Hello Sailor.
The first show in the series will appear in May – a comedy named Enter the Guardsman (ooh-er, missus!)
Meanwhile, celebrities including actor James Coburn, playwright Neil Simon and Hollywood producer Irwin Winkler have been lined up to give talks to passengers about theatrical life.
