Rise in Sydney visitor levels

SYDNEY is expecting to attract more than 200,000 additional visitors
next year as a result of hosting the Olympic Games.

The city attracts 230,000 international visitors in a normal
year but official forecasts predict this will increase by 208,000 next year due
to exposure during the games.

In addition, the number of international visitors to New South
Wales this year is expected to top 2.7 million. This is forecast to increase to
more than three million in 2002 and four million in 2006.
