IRISH Ferries has appointed three new business development managers in a shake-up of its sales team.
The expansion and restructuring of the team follows the departure of Dave Heney and Patricia Finn, who both left to take jobs outside the travel industry at the end of last year.
New recruit Rachael O’Grady now has responsibility for the company’s key accounts. She was formerly regional sales manager at Sunquest Holidays.
Marie McCarthy, who was previously assistant manager at Gerry Feeney Travel in Birmingham, will now look after the Midlands and South Wales region and liaise with coach and group operators. And Aiden Walsh joins the team from Ryder Truck Rental to oversee the London and Southeast region.
Completing the team is existing business development manager John Chambers, who is responsible for the North and North Wales region and relations with tour operators.
General sales manager Daragh O’Reilly said Irish Ferries aimed to raise its profile in the travel trade, publicise its new fares structure, and prepare for the launch of a new ferry on the Holyhead-Dublin route in 2001.
