CELEBRITY Cruises will undertake its first ever programme to South America in the winter 2000/2001 season.
Mercury will operate six 10-15 night itineraries to destinations including Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, the Amazon Rover, Devil’s Island and the Chilean Fjords. The programme, called Celebrity Voyages, will run from November 26 2000 to February 22 2001.
A Celebrity spokeswoman said: “People are always looking for new itineraries, and we have a 50% repeat business factor among our passengers, many of whom have already cruised to the Caribbean, Alaska and Bermuda. These are particularly exciting itineraries, which include Chile and Argentina.”
Mercury, which has a capacity of 1,870 passengers, is based in the Caribbean in the winter. However, for the 2000/2001 season it will be replaced by Celebrity’s forthcoming new vessel, Millennium.
