Bath Travel’s Web site is good value
I write in response to Paul Richer’s letter (Travel Weekly November 6).
I previously worked in the Internet department of Bath Travel and I would like to comment on a few of the things he has said.
As you may be aware, Palmair (which operates flights from Bournemouth) is the tour operating division of Bath Travel, so it is understandable that Bath is advertising Bournemouth prominently on his Web site.
Visitors are encouraged to phone the call centre, and yes it may be an 0870 number but it does feature a call-back icon which returns the client’s call making it better value in time and money.
The reason the staff member did not enquire where you had seen the offer is because the Internet department has it’s own number which flashes up when the phone rings. I can therefore assure you that the amount of calls are monitored closely.
