AGENTS are being warned to decide whether they are going
to embrace discounts or refuse to offer them.
First Choice sales and distribution director John
Wimbleton told agents at the Midconsort conference in Cyprus that discounts are
here to stay and they have to make up their minds about how to deal with them.
He said: “Make sure you understand because if you don’t
know what’s going on, you’ll end up giving too much away. You’ve got to decide
what your policy is because you don’t want to get stuck in the middle.”
Wimbleton also said agents needed to learn how to sell
properly and added that some find it really difficult to close a sale and ask
how customers want to pay.
