Air France sees profits rise

AIR France saw net profit rise 38% to £258 million for
the half year ending September 30. The earnings were boosted by a £54 million
one-time gain from the sale of its 1.6% stake in global distribution system
Amadeus. Air France chairman Jean-Cyril Spinetta said he expected full year
results to be in line with those of last year. The airline is also believed to
be interested in talking to Italian airline Alitalia.
