Agents slam Dolphin Dynamics over costs

Report by Lisa James

RETAILERS have accused technology supplier Dolphin Dynamics
of charging inflated prices to use its agency system.

Agents say Dolphin is capitalising on their bad fortune
following the collapse of technology supplier Amicus Solutions last month.

The rights to operate Amicus’ office-management software,
called Sapphire, have been bought by Dolphin (Travel Weekly December 4).

Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association vice-president Willie
Stewart said: “Dolphin can not close our system down but it is not going to
develop it or fund it.

“We feel Dolphin is trying to push us into using its own
system.”

Stewart, who uses the Sapphire system in his two
Ayshire-based agencies, claims he has been quoted around £25,000 to install the
Dolphin system.

Dolphin Dynamics was unavailable for comment.
