MANCHESTER
Airport has released its annual financial report for the year 1999/2000.

Highlights
of the report show:

*  Turnover has fallen slightly to £254.7
million, compared to £255.5 million in 1999

*  Pre tax profits on ordinary activities
dropped to £28.9 million from £42.4 the previous year

*  After tax profits were £17.2 million,
compared to £27.5 million in 1999

* Total
share dividends stand at £884,000, a fall from £17.1 million in 1999.

Chief executive Geoff Muirhead said the end of European duty
and tax-free sales had caused the fall in profits. Muirhead added the year had
been one of “satisfactory and steady progress in our long term goals.”
