Garside quits miniple after strategy rumpus

BRIAN Garside, managing director of six-branch miniple Paterson Travel, has quit the company after seven years in the role.

He said his decision followed a difference of opinion in how to take the business forward.

“Paterson’s is a family-run business and I wanted to progress perhaps slightly quicker than the owners,” said Garside. “It is a competitive marketplace and I believe you need to invest in technology like the Internet.”

Paterson Travel has shops in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Liverpool.

Garside, who was formerly with Rank Holidays, is currently considering a number of opportunities.

Paterson Travel was unavailable for comment.
