Lunn Poly has succeeded in forcing Going Places to withdraw an advert which it claimed was misleading.
The Advertising Standards Authority ordered Going Places to drop the advert that offered a 10% discount on summer 2000 holidays and a lowest price guarantee.
Although the small print explained that the offer only applied to Airtours, Aspro and Panorama Holidays, the ASA agreed with Lunn Poly that it could mislead the public.
“Going Places made a broad statement which the terms and conditions could not back up,” said an ASA spokesman.
“The lowest price guarantee also applied to a limited number of operators which was misleading. The restrictions need to be made clear in the main body of the advert.”
A Going Places spokeswoman said: “The points raised have been addressed.”
