EasyJet and Luton airport agree new charges

Report by John Lavabre

EASYJET has agreed on an interim charging agreement for the
services it receives at Luton airport.

The agreement, which comes into force today and lasts until
August 1, will see the fee per departing passenger increase to between £5-6,
although the exact figure is not being made public.

The previous fee, which was negotiated in 1995 as part of
a five-year start up deal for EasyJet, was £1.57 per departing passenger.
