Check-in
Check-in was 1hr before departure and there weren’t any big queues, despite the fact only three of the 14 check-ins were open. Go is a ticketless airline, so a faxed confirmation of the booking and passport was all that was needed. There’s a separate desk for those who only have hand-luggage.
On the Ground
No business-class lounge for the no-frills passenger but Stansted has plenty of cafes and restaurants and duty and tax-free shops to keep you occupied. Even for those travelling within the European Union there are discounted perfumes and aftershaves and a small amount of tobacco and alcohol at knock-down prices.
Aircraft Type
Boeing 737-300 with capacity for 148 passengers all seated in the same class.
Seats
About the size of a standard charter seat to the Mediterranean. I found them comfortable enough but larger passengers might find them a bit of a squash. No in-flight entertainment. Seat-back pockets contain an excellent in-flight magazine with maps of the destinations on the network and tips on where to eat, drink and sightsee.
Food
The in-flight menu is a selection of snacks and drinks supplied by Costa Coffee at normal prices. The sandwiches were delicious and the coffee was the best I’ve tasted on any flight.
In-flight Service
The service was friendly and efficient.
Overall impression
If you want all the trappings usually associated with business class and you work for a company that is prepared to pay for those luxuries, then forget it. But if you are a business traveller on a small budget and want a clean, efficient and reliable service, then this is hard to beat.
