Two Midlands miniples acquire Oyster Travel

TWO Midlands miniples have stepped in to acquire the branches of now defunct Leicestershire-based agency Oyster Travel.

Bowen Travel has added Oyster’s Hinckley office to its portfolio of 17 other shops across the East and West Midlands and Tomorrow’s World Travel will take over the premises and assets at Nuneaton, bringing the number of its branches around Leicestershire and Warwickshire to 12.

The seven staff at the offices will be kept on.

Bowen divisional manager Alwyn Wedge said: “The office became a Bowen branch on October 1. We are contacting operators about Oyster customers and will be helping clients with their travel arrangements.”

Tomorrow’s World Travel sees the acquisition as part of expansion plans that will see the miniple increase to 16 outlets next year.
