Leading Hotels unveils second luxury brand


LEADING Hotels of the World has launched a second brand name to promote boutique luxury properties.



The group has already signed up 25 hotels for the new brand extension, Leading Small Hotels of the World.



Marshall Calder, managing director of the new category, said: “The business traveller may stay at a grand hotel in Paris for a meeting but he may return on holiday and want to stay at a smaller but still luxurious hotel. We want to ensure he stays with a Leading hotel.”



Calder said the company hoped to sign up a further 50 members a year. With eligible hotels having only100 rooms or less, only around 400-500 globally will fit the new category.



Global distribution systems codes and call-centre numbers stay the same and members will be featured in the group’s directory with a logo to distinguish them from the larger hotels.
