dfds seaways offers a free kids’ deal on various holidays throughout its brochure, if booked in advance. Also, there is only a 50% charge on cabin supplements for children, and those under fourtravel free if they don’t require their own berth. The ferry operator also runs kids’ colouring competitions and treasure hunts during crossings as well as a dry pool room.
british airways introduced Skyflyers, a service dedicated to children, back in 1988. Skyflyers is available on any flight of more than two hours. It was most recently updated in 1999 and now includes children’s meals served in bright activity picnic boxes; a feed-families-first policy to ensure that children don’t go hungry; children’s packs that include a wide range of games and activities for use on board the aircraft; and children’s radio and TV channels.
virgin atlantic provides children’s meals; ice creams during movies; a kids’ reusable backpack; an unaccompanied minors programme; baby-changing facilities on all aircraft; complimentary nappies, bottles, baby food and infant care chair – a child safety seat pioneered by Virgin for children aged between six months and six years.
