This Week: Gold Crest Holidays

BUDGET coach operator Gold Crest Holidays has seen sales rocket over the past six years. In 1995 it carried less than 1,000 passengers but last year that number increased to 20,000 people.
Its product has expanded accordingly and last year it launched ‘Freedom for Groups,’ a department that tailor makes holidays for groups.
Despite the growth, the operator has remained loyal to agents and only sells through the trade.
Managing director Mark Hartshorne admits he could sell his products direct, but has built up agreements with retailers instead .
Hartshorne said: “It’s an exciting time. We’ve got good staff, things are going from strength to strength and there’s lots to be positive about.”
