Beijing St Regis adds $60 million spa club
BEIJING’S first city spa is to open at the St Regis hotel this summer.
The hotel, part of the Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide chain, has spent $60 million on the new health spa and club at its hotel in the embassy district of the city.
The development is still under construction but is due to open in July. A Western-style restaurant, The Astor Grill, will open on the premises this year.
The spa includes a 25-metre swimming pool, spa with natural hot springs, whirlpools, wet and dry saunas, relaxation lounges, a private spa and lounge area and massage parlours.
The 1,300sq metre fitness centre will offer aerobic classes and tailored fitness programmes. The hotel also boasts two squash courts, an eight-lane bowling alley, snooker rooms, golf driving range and putting green. Spa members will have access to a colonial-styled cigar lounge and be eligible for discounts at all the property’s bars and restaurants.
