Sun International opens three more properties
LUXURY hotel chain Sun International has just bought a six-star hotel resort in the Maldives and is to open two new properties in Zambia.
Sun hopes to encourage twin-centre trips with clients stopping at its Dubai property on their way.
The group’s first Maldives property, The Kanuhura Sun Resort and Spa, a member of The Leading Small Hotels of the World, has 100 beach and stilted-mounted villas and suites and three restaurants.
Celebrity fitness guru Matt Roberts will run the on-site gym. Located on a private island, it is 35 minutes by seaplane from Male International Airport.
Director of sales and marketing Sue Bowen-Jones said: “We are excited about expanding our portfolio into this area. It provides a great opportunity for twin-centre visits with the Royal Mirage in Dubai.”
The two Zambian properties, the Royal Livingstone and the Zambezi Sun, have a joint conference centre and are a short walk from Victoria Falls.
The four-star Royal Livingstone opens on May 14 and the three-star Zambezi Sun has just opened.
