&#42 Birmingham sees passenger numbers increase

Birmingham International Airport handled 538,519 passengers in March, an increase of 2.8% over the same month last year. The number of scheduled passengers rose by 6.7% due to eight new routes and increased frequencies. However, traffic to Ireland was down 26.3% resulting from the cancellation of the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

&#42 Scotairways offers Amsterdam weekend special

ScotAirways is offering special weekend return fares to Amsterdam from Southampton Airport. The £85 fare plus tax requires an overnight Saturday stay in Holland, and is subject to availability. The fare is on offer until the end of the summer season.

&#42 Aurigny takes over bmi’s east Midlands route

Channel Island-based airline Aurigny has taken over the East Midlands-Guernsey route previously operated by bmi british midland. Aurigny will operate a daily service on a Saab 340 aircraft leaving East Midlands Airport at 12.45pm arriving in Guernsey at 2pm. A new codeshare agreement between bmi and Aurigny will allow passengers to link into bmi’s network.
