Kuoni targets growth of 10% in new programme
Report by STEVEJONES
KUONI is aiming for growth of 10% in its 2002 Florida programme after introducing a range of new properties.
The latest brochure features Disney’s Pop Century Resort, the Hard Rock Hotel and the Animal Kingdom Lodge which will open in the summer.
The operator is also looking to feature more designer-style hotels in Miami and has included the Beach House Bal Harbour.
Kuoni product director Francis Torrilla said: “We want to offer something different to just the beach and are trying to contract hotels with a visual impact.
The Beach House was designed in conjunction with the Ralph Lauren team and has some stylish touches.”
Unlike some of the charter operators, Torrilla claimed Kuoni was enjoying a strong year and was targeting growth of 10% in 2002.
He declined to reveal passenger numbers.
“The scheduled market has done very well and has not really been affected by the downturn in the charter arena,” he said.
New to the programme are multi-centre holidays combining Orlando with Playa Del Carmen in Mexico and Orlando with Las Vegas and New York.
Torrilla said: “These combinations were previously only available to customers who wanted to tailor-make their itineraries but because of their popularity we have now decided to put them in the brochure.
“The Playa Del Carmen option comes on the back of the success of our Orlando and Cancun combination.”
Prices, which have risen by an average of 3%, lead in at £727 for four nights in Orlando, three in Las Vegas and three in New York and include flights.
