Cadogan pulls out of Travelcaf talks
CADOGAN Holidays has pulled out of talks with new independent agency Travelcaf over a sponsorship deal worth £30,000.
Negotiations broke down after a dispute over how the deal would be structured.
However, Travelcaf blamed Cadogan for changing the original terms of the agreement.
Cadogan managing director Gary David said: “The plan was for us to sponsor a VIP lounge at Travelcaf’s coffee shop-style agency in Milton Keynes but we could not strike a deal that was satisfactory to us both.
“There was no point continuing with the talks.”
He said the cash will now be channelled into other opportunities with independent agents.
Travelcaf commercial director Warren Edwards said Cadogan wanted to change what the two parties had agreed in principal.
“Gary (David) wanted to change the goalposts which we simply could not accept,” he said. “It was a two-year deal and I’m not sure whether they wanted to pay less or reduce the length of the contract.”
He added Travelcaf is now in talks with two other operators but he declined to name them.
The store in Milton Keynes is due to open on May 28.
