SIR
MICHAEL Bishop has resigned as deputy chairman of Airtours.
He cited a
conflict of interest as he is also the controlling shareholder in bmi british
midland. Bmi is part-owned by German airline Lufthansa, which has a 50% stake
in Condor Neckerman, owner of Airtour’s rival Thomas Cook.
Eric
Sanderson, who has been on the Airtours board since 1987, will take over from
Sir Michael as deputy chairman.
