BRITISH Airways will launch a business-class lounge for its Brymon Airways subsidiary at Bristol International Airport’s new terminal, which is scheduled to open in March.
The business-class lounge, a first for Brymon, will be located close to the departure gate and passengers will be able to check in for their flights at the lounge instead of at a traditional check-in desk.
The style of the lounge is based on the traditional BA theme of a garden terrace and it will have a breakfast bar in the morning and a wine bar in the evening, a juice bar and cappuccino bar. Facilities include telephones, fax machines and photocopiers.
The facilities will be available to domestic and international travellers holding gold and silver BA’s frequent-flyer cards, as well as Club Europe passengers and qualifying frequent flyers from BA’s Oneworld partner airlines.
Brymon product manager Debra Dupret said:”We are keen to provide our passengers with a business lounge offering facilities to rival any major airport. The lounge will be exclusive, comfortable and relaxing.”
The lounge is scheduled to open on March 3 when Bristol unveils its £27m new terminal. The terminal will be able to handle 3.5m passengers each year, almost four times the existing one.
Bristol hopes it will handle 2.1m passengers this financial year, up from 1.87m in 1998/1999 (Travel Weekly January 24).
