BRITISH Airways has denied it is again holding merger talks
with Dutch airline KLM.
A spokesman for BA said: “The problems that were in place
last September are still in place so talk of a merger is certainly wrong.”
He added BA’s plan is to forge closer ties with American
Airlines and that chief executive Rod Eddington is in the USA having discussions
with the company.
Merger talks between KLM and BA came to end last year because
of regulatory issues (Travel Weekly September 25, 2000).
