MICHAEL
Hooper, the man attributed with initiating the early brochure launch, died yesterday after a short illness, aged 68.
As
marketing director at Clarksons, he came up with the idea of putting teams of
people on the beaches armed with
brochures for the following year‘s
holidays.
After the collapse of parent company Court Line, he became
general manager of P&O Air Holidays, and subsequently worked for Cosmos and
BA Holidays before becoming a consultant.
Details of the funeral will be posted on the Travel Weekly
website in due course.
