Concorde flys to Shannon for crew training

A BRITSH Airways Concorde has flown to Shannon in Ireland for
crew refresher training.

The aircraft, Alpha Foxtrot, departed from Heathrow at
10.30am and landed shortly before 12 noon. It flew at mach 2, twice the speed
of sound, for 30 minutes allowing the crew to complete a supersonic flight
cycle including all checks and procedures.

The training will include 35 take-offs and landings over
seven flights and is expected to last four days.

A spokesman for BA said it still hopes to bring Concorde
back into service by late summer.
