Cosmos reports slow 2002 business

COSMOS’ ongoing distribution problems have impacted on
summer 2002 business with sales down by more than a third.

The performance heaps further pressure on the operator with
speculation mounting that its owners, the Mantegazza family, are preparing to
sell.

Observers said Cosmos has inevitably suffered as the
multiples pull out all the stops to secure early sales for in-house product.

Cosmos commercial director Stuart Jackson said the fall in
sales was due to the late launch of its all-inclusive and Greece and Turkey
brochures.
