THE FOOT and mouth crisis has been blamed for a fall
in the amount of vehicular traffic using the services of Isle of Man Steam
Packet Company.
The ferry company’s traffic figures for August
revealed an 8.5% decrease in vehicular traffic to 20,186 compared to last year.
During the same period passenger traffic increased by 2.2% to 104,661
passengers.
Steam Packet managing director Hamish Ross said: “We
are working very hard to counter the effects of the foot and mouth crisis with
marketing and special offers.”
