Battle of the Alamo returns

THE second battle of the Alamo has taken place on the serene greens of a Florida golf course.

Car-rental firm Alamo, organised a golf day to thank operators for their support.

But sadly it seems the travel industry’s golfing fraternity took the game a little too casually and got warned for slow play after a bunch of semi-pros whinged to the course manager. Other players were put in front of the team after the second hole and then at the 14th hole they were ordered off the course completely by the management. But not without some strong words (too rude for this family newspaper) from the UK contingent.

The Americans didn’t take the abuse lightly and got all shirty. The manager, apparently, steamed out of the clubhouse fists flying and laid into a team member.

Then it all kicked off as the normally sedate travel industry stalwarts stood up for their rights. Fists flew, elbows struck out and feet were well aimed as both sides fought to a draw.

Makes all the Ryder Cup nonsense look like a tea party.
