A STRONG believer in ‘starting them young’, Springboard UK engages secondary-school children in activities and events to show the wide-ranging career opportunities open to them in hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism.
Working in partnership with individual companies, Springboard develops programmes to best meet their recruitment needs.
Having established that work experience is the single most important way to influence a child’s career choice, the company promote a work experience initiative for Thomas Cook through Springboard’s Travel and Tourism programme.
The TTP’s direct contact with schools created the ability to fast-track suitable candidates into Thomas Cook’s modern apprenticeship programme. Likewise, a growing range of industry case studies – bmi british midland, Thomas Cook, Legoland, Techniquest – brings industry to life for young students to give them a more realistic feel for the dynamics of the industry and the skill sets demanded by it.
