THOMAS Cook AG is looking to cut 3,000 jobs across the group
to save £330 million.
The group-wide initiative, dubbed the Triple T Programme –
Team, Targets, Thomas Cook – aims to slash the total payroll bill by 13%, and
will affect markets in the UK, Germany, Austria, Poland, the Netherlands and
Belgium. The exact impact on the UK market is not yet known.
The cuts follow 370 job cuts and 60 managerial cuts already
announced by Thomas Cook in the UK.
In addition, the management of the Thomas Cook Plus stores,
a group of six travel warehouses around the UK, is to be integrated into the
general retail management team.
The role of head of sales for Thomas Cook Plus, held by Alex
Cross, no longer exists.
A spokeswoman said: “We are talking to him about a number of
other roles.”
