British Airways is committing commercial suicide.
Independent agents cannot afford to sell air tickets for such scant reward and most passengers will not pay more for the pleasure of flying on the world’s favourite. Some of course will go direct and BA will have succeeded in squeezing out the agent. More however will migrate towards low yield net fares. Agents will retain their margins, passengers will get a better deal. The only loser will be BA.
Wake up BA. No-one wants a US or German flag carrier but continue with these proposals and that scenario will quickly become reality.
