Careers ‘doc’ takes a sickie
Innovative changes were made to the Opportunities 2001 recruitment fair to entice more visitors.
With totaljobs.com backing the event, a nationwide media campaign was rolled out, aimed at convincing jobseekers that this was the ideal event to kick-start their careers or move them into new areas.
As travel industry recruitment is so volatile at the moment, the presence of a ‘career doctor’ at the show seemed like a great idea.
Although not actually looking for a new job, last word went along to see what the medic prescribed.
Alas, she was nowhere to be seen. After much waiting in her makeshift ‘surgery’, last word was eventually informed that the ‘doctor’ was off sick!
